Frank Ippolito

Frank Ippolito is a visual artist and singer-songwriter who moved to Jersey City in 2011. Early on, Frank established the long running Jersey City musical staple, the Spaghetti Sessions Performing Songwriters Workshop. He released a solo CD, The Watermark Project, in 2015. Frank Ippolito's solo music is an acoustic-electric mix of folk, rock, and world music. Its sonic palette may include the lilting melody of Irish whistle, the quiet ebb and flow of cello, or a hot stab of trumpet - all held together by the austere scrape of acoustic guitar or splash of piano. With a vocal delivery that is as varied as it is hard to pin down, Frank Ippolito’s sonorous voice at times evokes a young Cat Stevens; elsewhere it conjures shades of a wizened, late-career Leonard Cohen. Whatever voice that is called upon, it is always one of a storyteller eager to explore another tale.
